four days ago the boston celtics spoiled the washington wizards' home opener but coach whitman was impressed with the heart that he saw on the court that night. well, last night the wiz going for revenge in beantown and once again you can say they played with some heart. the wizards put everything they had out on the floor. down 11 at one point in the fourth, here underneath. jams it home to tie things up at 80. now 30 seconds left, still tied up. rajon rondo nailings the two pointer and gives the celtics the lead. but with time winding down, wiz down two. singleton and slams it home and we're headed to overtime. in ot though the celtics able to pull away. rondo finds bass down the court for the dagger. wizards gave a good effort but lose this one by six. and fall to 0-3 on the season. >>> check out this scene. the second leg of d.c. united's playoff series against new york was postponed from last night to tonight because of heavy snowfall from the nor'easter. if you recall, their first leg was already moved from new york -- new jersey to d.c. because of superstorm sandy. look
last night at the bp station on benning road in northeast washington. police say the shooter got in an argument with the gas station clerk, grabbed a gun from his car and started firing. one victim has serious injuries but all three people in this are expected to survive. >>> an unis expected twist -- an unexpected twist in the case of the accused east coast rapist. he was expected to make a plea charged with attacking a couple of teenagers trick or treating in 2009. when he got before the judge, aaron thomas said he wasn't sure what he was doing or what was right or wrong. now it appears the case is headed to trial. thomas is suspected also of attacking women from virginia all the way north to connecticut. >>> as long as kwame brown stays out of trouble, he won't go to jail for a campaign finance violation. a d.c. judge sentenced the former city council chairman to 30 days in jail but suspended the sentence. that happened hours after a federal judge sentenced brown to one day in custody followed by six months of home detention for lying on loan applications. he also has to compl

today george allen is going to be voting right here where i am now at washington mill elementary school in mount vernon shortly after the polls open at 6:00 a.m. then he'll be heading down to richmond to watch the returns come in and it'll likely be a late, nerve-wracking night for both candidates, but especially allen because in 2006 allen lost the race for this very senate seat by less than 9,000 votes. you know he would hate to have that happen again, but it's going to be close. the former governor is up against another former governor, democrat tim kaine. this morning he too will be leading by example, casting his vote in richmond. and, you know, kaine's last few campaign stops have been all about getting out the vote and reminding virginians about the state's new voter identification law. because as we've been saying all morning, every last vote is going to count in this race. so, remember, when you come out to vote, be sure to bring your valid form of i.d., polls open in virginia starting at 6:00 a.m., in just under a half an hour. and, look, there is already a line forming. i'm g
